Job Summary
We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Head of Sales to lead and shape our sales efforts, driving initiatives and working closely with marketing, media, branding, advertising, and digital teams to maximise revenue and growth. Stationed in Arusha, the Sales Head will play a critical role in establishing our presence in the market, targeting continental and international arrivals, especially from the US, Europe, and Asia. This role will directly report to the CEO.
Professional Requirements
Strategic Sales Planning
Develop and implement long-term sales strategies aligned with the company’s business goals.
Craft strategies targeting both international and local markets with an aim to increase arrivals to Tanzania.
Relationship Building & Partnership Development
Bring along a trusted network of industry relationships across geographies.
Establish high-value partnerships with travel agencies, tour operators, corporate clients, and hospitality partners worldwide.
Represent Flying Odyssey at industry events, trade shows, and conferences to network with potential clients, partners, and stakeholders.
Negotiation & Influencing Skills
Be a master negotiator in high-stake negotiations, closing major deals that boost revenue and secure top-tier clients.
Influence key partners, stakeholders, and clients to secure beneficial partnerships.
Sales Promotion and Campaign Management
Collaborate with marketing and branding teams to design and execute sales campaigns promoting hot air ballooning experiences.
Use digital marketing, travel fairs, and agency partnerships to enhance visibility and drive sales.
Innovation & Growth
Identify emerging market opportunities and evolve sales models to stay ahead of industry trends.
Ensure our ballooning packages exceed customer expectations in quality and experience.
Team Leadership and Management
Lead and inspire the sales team, providing them with the tools and training to deliver outstanding results.
Conduct regular learning and development sessions to ensure the sales team is knowledgeable about the product and equipped with effective sales techniques.
Data-Driven Sales Decision Making
Leverage analytics, CRM tools, and data to inform decisions, track KPIs, and boost sales performance.
Customer Relationship Management
Oversee customer service to ensure high satisfaction, encouraging repeat business and positive referrals.
Address feedback and concerns swiftly to enhance the company’s reputation.
Revenue & Profitability Management:
Set targets and budgets in collaboration with the senior management team ensuring alignment with the company’s financial goals.
Monitor sales performance and adjust strategies as necessary to meet or exceed financial objectives.
Reporting and Communication
Regularly report to the C-suite on sales progress, market insights, and business opportunities.
Ensure clear and effective communication channels within the sales team and across other departments to facilitate coordinated and strategic actions.
Mandatory Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Tourism, or a related field (MBA highly preferred).
At least 10 years of proven success in sales within the travel and tourism industry.
Experienced in leading sales initiatives across multiple international markets, with a keen understanding of global consumer behaviour and travel trends.
Fluency in English; proficiency in Swahili and other languages (from key markets) is
a strong plus
Adaptable, with the ability and willingness to travel regularly to achieve business objectives
